|Hillwalking & Hiking
Mike Briggs offers a professional hillwalking (hiking) guide service for visitors to the Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides. He ensures that you follow the best routes and see the best sights in safety and companionship.
If your stay is short and you dont know the area or if your partner wants to do their own thing, Mike provides the answer with a friendly and individually tailored service which takes into account your interests and capabilities.
Whether you want to climb to the highest peak to catch a glimpse of St Kilda on the western horizon or wander along the valleys and beaches, Mike can lead you there. He can also help identify the flowers, animals and geological features and provide tips on navigation and map-reading.
This is a personalised service which allows time for you to enjoy things at your own pace. Accordingly a whole day is set aside for each walk, and you can start at whatever time you like (even 6am, if that's what you want!) and finish when it suits you. That said, most people like to walk for about 4-6 hours in total. The charge is £140 for the day for up to two people and £35 for each extra person. A small charge is made for transport for anyone needing to be picked up or dropped off. Groups of more than six by arrangement.
All tours initiate at our base in Bun na Gille, Bunabhainneadar, North Harris.
