Pilates

This increasingly popular exercise method combines controlled, precise movements with breathing techniques to increase core strength and stability.

 Peggy Briggs is a qualified Spencer Pilates instructor and also offers private one-to-one sessions by arrangement.  Charges from £37 per hour.
Studio capacity 7 people.

Pilates Matwork for Complete Beginners

Level 1 – Very gentle, precise exercises to practise muscle and breath control, strengthen your back and improve posture and balance.  Suitable for beginners, the unfit, those recovering from injury, the not-so-young and even those who haven’t exercised for years.  These classes are popular with those who find yoga too strenuous.

Basic Pilates Matwork

Level 2 –  Building on the control learned at level 1, the exercises will go one step further to increase core strength, isolating and lengthening individual muscles.  Suitable for those wanting to try a new, precise exercise to increase fitness and tone muscles without building bulk.
